Hello, I'm Andrew, Founder of Hero Transformations and I’ve been through the whole Mental Health system, Doctors, Medications, Employee Help Lines, Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Hospitals, Nurses, Anaesthetists, Electroconvulsive Therapists, Consultants, Psychiatrists, Mental Hospitals, Accident and Emergencies, Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, Ambulances, Local Councils – none of it worked. So Hero Transformations was founded by myself following years of frustration, dealing with out of date methodology surrounding the approach to Mental Health.

Hey, my name is Andrew and I’m the Founder of Hero Transformations. I wanted to welcome you to the site and tell you a bit about what we do here, and why it’s so important that we do it. I used to have what you might consider a “perfect life;” I had a beautiful wife, a young daughter and a son, nice cars, our dream home, took regular holidays, the lot. 

Then what seemed like out of nowhere, Depression hit me, and man did it hit hard. I was then introduced to what many refer to as our Mental Health System, which is where two years of despair and frustration began. Battling with Doctors Receptionists, GP’s not listening, Medications not working, Psychotherapists, Consultants, CBT Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Mental Hospitals, ECT (Electric Shock Therapy) and pretty much everything under the sun to try and help me past it.
But all of this wasn’t just hard on me, it also put my family through hell. I felt that my wife who had been my rock didn’t deserve what I couldn’t control, or what I thought I couldn’t control. It was then that I decided something had to change even if it meant that everything needed to. I decided to take control of my life and focus on the areas that were best for me, my family, and my Health.


DEPRESSION: Depression is a low mood that lasts for a long time and affects your everyday life. In its mildest form, depression can mean just being in low spirits. It doesn’t stop you leading your normal life but makes everything harder to do and seem less worthwhile. At its most severe, depression can be life-threatening because it can make you feel suicidal. We can help
SUICIDAL THOUGHTS: Suicide is the act of intentionally taking your own life. Suicidal feelings can range from being preoccupied by abstract thoughts about ending your life, or feeling that people would be better off without you, to thinking about methods of suicide, or making clear plans to take your own life. If you are feeling suicidal, you might be scared or confused by these feelings. But you are not alone. Many people think about suicide at some point in their lifetime. We can help.
SOMEONE TO LISTEN TOO: Sometimes it’s hard to talk to family and friends and you just need that one person who takes the time to listen. We can help.
CONFLICT: Despite what people might think, no-one likes conflict, it can cause anxiety amongst other issues, which is why many of us shy away from it and do not get it resolved. We can help.
MEDITATIONS: Meditation is a practice where an individual uses a technique – such as mindfulness, or focusing their mind on a particular object, thought or activity – to train attention and awareness, and achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm and stable state. We can help.
ANXIETY:  Anxiety is what we feel when we are worried, tense or afraid – particularly about things that are about to happen, or which we think could happen in the future. Anxiety is a natural human response when we perceive that we are under threat. It can be experienced through our thoughts, feelings and physical sensations. We can help.
SUICIDE SURVIVORS: Let’s not sugar coat this, you tried to end your own life but survived, now close friends, family and maybe work colleagues all know your most dark thoughts and also actions. You may also not be getting the help you need from anywhere. We can help.
NUTRITION: Yes there is a link between what you eat and drink and your Mental Health, the current market place is very crowded with what to do or not to do. We can help.
CONFIDENCE: Confidence is everything and you need to protect it at all times, many people struggle with it and this is normal as the brain is designed to protect us and keep us away from new things as the unknown is always perceived as dangerous, to have confidence is tricky. We can help.
FITNESS: We think that the mind and body are separate. But what you do with your body can have a powerful effect on your mental wellbeing. Mental wellbeing means feeling good – both about yourself and about the world around you. It means being able to get on with life in the way you want. Evidence shows there’s a link between being physically active and good mental wellbeing. Being active doesn’t mean you need to spend hours in the gym, if that doesn’t appeal to you. Find physical activities you enjoy and think about how to fit more of them into your daily life. We can help.
SEXUAL VIOLENCE: If you have been abused, or fear you have, it can be hard to take the first step in seeking help – especially if you have tried to talk about the issue to friends, family or professionals and have not had a response that helped you. We can help.
ISOLATION & LONELINESS: Although most people need some kind of social contact to maintain good mental health, everyone has different social needs. You may be someone who is content with a few close friends, or you may need a large group of varied acquaintances to feel satisfied. We can help.
STRAINED RELATIONSHIPS: Often overlooked but often a huge impact on people and their Mental Health, our relationships and experiences with those around us shape our beliefs and values. It is not always easy to talk to those around us about such things. We can help.
ADDICTION: Addiction is often linked to mental health problems. If you have an addiction problem it may have started as a way to cope with feelings that you felt unable to deal with in any other way. We can help.
MINDSET: A mindset may be so firmly established that it creates a powerful incentive within these people or groups to continue to adopt or accept prior behaviours, choices, or tools. Mindset is key to everyday living and success; it is something which you continually work at. We can help.

My Approach To Health

I have been through the entire Mental Health system in the UK, for me it was not working, at any stage, on any level, on any department, on any procedure, on any policy. That was when I took things into my own hands, researched, learnt, re-trained and put together my own program. I then wanted to help others, I was fortunate to be able to get out and had the support to do this, we now have a tribe which can support others who are also looking for a new option, an available option, an option which has been working for over 150 other Heroes in the making.
For me in a moment of clarity I knew that what was being told to me and what I had been waiting for just was not working. For me, if it is not working then you need to change something. No more windowless rooms, no more experts who had not lived it, no more waiting lists, no more system which does not work for those in need.

Hero Transformations was born and is thriving.

So What Is Mental Health?

We all have Mental Health, at The Hero Group we just call it ‘Health’ as your Physical and Mental Health is all intrinsically linked. But if you are after a definition then it is your beliefs, thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

Why Do People Have Mental Health Issues?

The short answer is – ‘Life’. The longer answer would be changes in your circumstances, biological, psychological and social issues can all contribute

If I’m Worried, What Do I Do?

You should talk to someone that you trust, this doesn't have to be a GP or 999, it can be a friend, relative or colleague, it can of course be us as well.

Can Mental Health Problems Be Cured? 

Yes, but in the same way that being unfit or being overweight can be cured, it needs to be worked at, you don’t suddenly become fit and lean and then stop going to the gym and start eating donuts.

Can Mental Health Problems Be Prevented?

There are measures which can be taken to help reduce the risk, like there are measures that can be taken to help reduce getting cancer, not smoking, healthy diet etc. you could still get it though. Developing strategies, wellbeing, resilience and seeking help and talking can all help to prevent challenges reaching crisis point.

What Do I Do If I’m Worried About Someone Else?

Let them know you are there for them, as with everything, communication is key, it really is better to say something than nothing. 

Can a friend, colleague or relative use Heroes?

Yes. Absolutely if you would like someone to find out a bit more and have any additional questions answered then please share this page with them. Even if someone has not asked you to get in touch and you are concerned about them and would like to learn more, then again please do sign post them to here.

Do I have to live near you?

No. The Hero Transformations program which we run is done remotely, so as long as you have a smart phone, tablet or computer it will be fine, a printer would also be helpful or access to one, but it’s not essential. We have helped people from all over the world and I am based in Manchester, UK.

How much is The Hero Transformations Program?

We are currently in the fortunate position where as an individual there is no cost for access to the on-line Hero Transformations Program and our aim is to keep it this way forever where possible.

When does the next Hero Group Program start?

The nature of the Hero Program is they run all the time, it does not matter when you pick it up because all of it is intrinsically linked. Again picking up on the gym analogy, if you join and they are working on squats or if they are working on running, both are going to get to your goal of fitness.

What do I do if the Program doesn't help me?

It can be difficult to find the right things to help you as different things help different people. It is important to be open to a range of approaches and to be committed to finding the right help and continue to remain hopeful, even when some things don’t work out. Also, it may seem that something has not worked now and further down the line you realise the benefit. This is not a sales page, but the question to ask yourself is, is what I am doing now working?

Do you do Corporate Schemes?

Yes. We can provide a blueprint for Companies which helps them to look after their staff from a Health and Wellbeing point of view. Coupled with the Hero Blueprint which covers Fitness, Nutrition and Mindset we also provide workshops, seminars and training where needed.  It is through Corporate Schemes, Donations and other Business Ventures which allow us to give the Hero Transformations Blueprint to those who need it at zero cost.
